Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is a traditional Cub Scout event that the boys love and remember for a lifetime! Each Pack puts on their own Pinewood Derby, usually organized by a Pinewood Derby Committee of volunteers to work hard to bring this event to the boys of their Cub Scout Pack. Most Packs run this as an annual event.

Everyone involved with Pinewood Derby should keep in mind the motto of Cub Scouting is "Do Your Best" and care should be taken to ensure that all Cub Scout effort is celebrated! Always keep in mind that its all for the boys! Catch the movie "Down and Derby" for a humorous look at pinewood derbies!

If you search the Internet for Cub Scout Pinewood Derby you will get more information than you would ever want! Keep in mind that many of these sites are not official BSA sites and in order for you to bring the highest quality program to your Cub Scouts you should view everything through the lens of the purposes and spirit of Cub Scouting.
