Who is Scoutmaster Specific Training for?

This training is designed for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. Troop committee members, transitioning Webelos leaders, and other adults expecting to support the success of a troop are also encouraged to attend. Some troops even recommend completion of this training for any parent who would like to camp with the troop.

You should complete Boy Scout Leader Fast Start Training prior to taking Scoutmaster Specific training. It is fast and easy. You can even take it online!

Take New Leader Essentials First!

New Leader Essentials provides an overview of BSA aims, purposes and methods. Scoutmaster Specific training will make more sense after you have completed New Leader Essentials.

New Leader Essentials is only taken once during your Scouting Career. If you have taken New Leader Essentials while training for a different position or a different level, you do not need to retake it.
