Summer Camp Information

The Western Los Angeles County Council has three camps that together embody everything that California has to offer. Whether you are looking to explore the coast of the Pacific Ocean, experience the majesty of the Sequoia National Forest, access the historical glamour of Hollywood, or all of the above, WLACC camps offer a program that will exceed your expectations. Camp Emerald Bay

Camp Emerald Bay

The gem of Catalina Island offers an invigorating and highly professional Merit Badge program with an emphasis on sustainability and Scouting values. Outside of merit badge classes, troops can kayak, snorkel, SCUBA dive,mountain bike, and much more. Older scouts can explore Catalina from the heights of its peaks to the depths of the ocean in the Rugged Adventurers program, whose Five high adventure programs offer older scouts the challenge and adventure they seek in overnight canoe and mountain bike trips and high-level SCUBA diving certifications in some of the best diving in the world.

Camp Whitsett

Camp Whitsett's outstanding program offers over twenty traditional merit badges, mountain biking, hiking, a COPE course and white-water rafting. Scouts can fast-track their rank advancement with wide-ranging Merit Badges and First Class programs while the entire troop improves its unit pride with troop-wide activities and leadership training. Sierra Expeditions High Adventure can lead beginning and advanced groups in backpacking, mountain biking, C.O.P.E. and rock climbing.

Camp Josepho

Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, Camp Josepho is a quiet retreat that is less than thirty minutes from the heart of Hollywood and the beaches of Malibu. Come here for Webelos Movie Resident Camp (where Webelos make their own short films), Cub Day Camp, Adult Leader Trainings, or rent the facility for your own special event. Josepho is fast becoming the Cinematography center of the Boy Scout community, with Merit Badge clusters upcoming this summer for Cinematography, Game Design, and Animation Merit Badges!
