2023 Eagle Scout dinner invitation to new Eagles

Dear Eagle Scout,

Congratulations on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout!  You are receiving this letter because you are a member of the elite Eagle Scout Class of 2021, 2022, or 2023!

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the Western Los Angeles County Council will be hosting an “Eagle Scouts Recognizing Eagle Scouts” dinner.  As an Eagle Scout of the Class of 2021, 2022 or 2023, you are invited to be our guest as we recognize your outstanding accomplishment.  Local business, professional, and political leaders in Los Angeles will be attending this event to honor you.  As a member of the class, your dinner is complimentary.  Your parents, family members, and supporters are welcome and encouraged to attend.  During the dinner, you will be seated with other Eagle Scouts from your class as well as other Eagle Scout alumni.  This will be a great opportunity for you to meet and develop relationships with high achieving individuals, receive college or career advice, seek out internships, or find Scouters with similar hobbies or avocations.

The “Eagle Scouts Recognizing Eagle Scouts” dinner will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Skirball Cultural Center located at 2701 North Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA  90049.  You must preregister to attend at 23Eagle.givesmart.com.  Registrations must be made online no later than October 1, 2023.

Parents, family members, and other guests can purchase a ticket to attend at a cost of $150.00 per person.  They must preregister to attend at 23Eagle.givesmart.com, and registrations must be made online no later than October 1, 2023.  Please note that this is an Eagle Scout sponsored event, and the Eagle Scouts of classes 2021-2023 will be seated with the event sponsors.

Whether you can attend the event or not, we would like to include you in our slide show.  Please submit a picture of yourself, along with a before and after picture of your Eagle Scout service project.  Submissions can be sent to Marty Kasman at [email protected]

During the evening, we will be recognizing the Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year.  A college scholarship will be awarded to the top projects for 2021, 2022, and 2023.  To be considered for the prize, you must submit an electronic version of your Eagle Scout Project Workbook to Gerry Kasman at [email protected] no later than September 18, 2023.

Please plan to wear your full Scout uniform to the dinner.  Professional photographs will be taken prior to the program and are available for purchase for a nominal price.  There is no sitting fee, and photos will begin at 5:00 p.m.  The doors will open at approximately 6:45 p.m., and the dinner program will commence promptly at 7:00 p.m.  We will also take an Eagle Scout class photo at the end of the evening.  Parents/guardians/supporters should wear their Scout uniform or business attire.

Earning the Eagle Scout award is a monumental event in your life.  Please encourage your parents, family, friends and supporters to recognize your achievement by coming to the dinner, by sponsoring another Eagle Scout, and/or by becoming a dinner sponsor.  A list of sponsorship opportunities can be found at 23Eagle.givesmart.com.  Your supporters may also want to consider recognizing your achievement with a James E. West Fellowship.  More information about the award can be found at https://www.scouting.org/awards/awards-central/james-e-west-fellowship/.

We hope to see you at the dinner!  In the meantime, please consider joining the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA).  More information can be found at www.nesa.org.
