Scouts – LA Parks Clean-up Day

On Saturday, July 20th, 2019 roughly 350 Scouters and the Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department came together at various San Fernando Valley Parks for a morning of good deeds. Scouts ranging from the ages of 5 to 21 years of age, along with community leaders and family members mulched trees, refurbished picnic tables and painted over graffiti at Lanark Recreation Center in Canoga Park, Lake Balboa in Van Nuys, and the North Hollywood Recreation Center. The day of service was organized with the assistance of Paul Krekorian (L.A. City Council member), Nury Martinez (L.A. Council member), Bob Blumenfield (L.A. Council member) Michael Shul (General Manager of L.A. Department of Parks and Recreation), Javier Solis (Superintendent of Park maintenance), and many of their dedicated employees.
Big thanks to everyone that made the event so successful and to the whole community for taking time on Saturday to make the world a more beautiful place.
El Sabado, 20 de Julio se unieron mas de 350 scouts y voluntarios de los Boy Scouts of America y el Departamento de Parques y Recreacion para una manana de buenas acciones. Se reunieron con familias del area para remover graffitis, recoger basura y plantar arboles y flores en las zonas verdes del centro de Parque Lanark en Canoga Park, el Lago de Balboa en Van Nuys, y el centro de Recreacion de North Hollywood. Este hermoso dia de servicio fue organizada con la ayuda de various miembros del consejo de Los Angeles como Paul Krekorian, Nury Martinez y Bob Blumenfield, el gerente general del departamento de Parques y Recreacion Michael Shul, Javier Solis el superintendente de mantenimiento de los parques, y todos los empleados dedicados al servicio que atendieron.
